Awesome Blue Cocktails & Mixed Drinks to Make or Order
Beyond the color, we love blue drinks because a large number of them contain pineapple juice, nature’s truest (non-alcoholic) treat.

We also love them because they remind us of the warmer months of the year. And maybe, just maybe it’s because we’re usually drinking them outdoors, and outdoor drinking is excellent.
Besides, nature didn’t provide too many options when it comes to blue food, so we need to get our blue fix where we can.
About Blue Curacao
Before we start, you should know that Blue Curacao is made with laraha, a citrus fruit from the island of Curacao. In case you never knew, Curacao is a Caribbean island just North of Venezuela. Popular brands include Bols, Hiram Walker, amongst others.
While we’re asking questions, how did an orange liqueur ever end up blue? Like, blue vodka we get. But no one associates blue with an orange flavor profile.
Anyway, here is our list of delicious blue mixed drinks.
Blue Hawaii
Pineapple Juice and White Rum, what’s not to like?
Splash in the rest of the spirits and mixers and you have a fruity cocktail just waiting to be served. Add some crushed ice and you’re off to the races.
Ingredients: Pineapple Juice, Rum, Sweet and Sour Mix, Vodka
Blue Hawaiian
Once again, you can’t go wrong with Pineapple Juice and Light Rum. Where the Blue Hawaiian differs is the substitution of Sweet and Sour mix for Cream of Coconut. The Blue Hawaiian is a lot more like a Pina Colada in this way.
Why the confusion? We don’t know, as we didn’t make up the rules. Drink recipes can get a bit obtuse from time to time.
Could you sub out the Creme de Coconut for some Coconut Rum? Possibly. Your call.

Adios Motherfucker
This cocktail packs a wallop. It’s got a frat party, Long Island Iced Tea kind of vibe. One look at the ingredients will explain why.
Made with four hard liquors and one liqueur, the Adios MF drink might just be our favorite boozy, blue-colored beverage. But maybe only have one, you know? Two at most. And make sure you add plenty of ice cubes to your highball glass if you’re enjoying it beach-side.
Ingredients: Blue Curaçao, Gin, Lemon Juice, Lemon-Lime Soda, Rum, Sweet & Sour, Tequila, Vodka
Aqua Velva
It might look like the aftershave, but it sure doesn’t taste like it. Well, at least not without the grapefruit juice.
Anyway, the drink. An Aqua Velva is a potent potable that contains over 3oz of spirits and a topped-up amount of Lemon-Lime soda. We prefer Sprite.
It’s not a cocktail you’d commonly order at a bar. For starters, it doesn’t really roll off the tongue. Plus, the 25 year old at your local watering hole has no idea how to make one.
But it does make for a good summer drink, especially with a spritz of fresh lime juice (optional to the mix). Have a few too many and you may just leave your Hurricane Glass out by the Tiki Hut.
Trivia: The Aqua Velva was the preferred mixed drink of the killer in the 2007 film, Zodiac.
“... and an alarming- looking blue elixir called an Aqua Velva that is Graysmith's bar drink of choice.”

Blue Lagoon
The Blue Lagoon is the result of someone looking back-to-back into their refrigerator and liquor cabinet and grabbing the first three ingredients they see. If this is you, you’re thinking, “I got lemonade, how can I spike it?!”
The answer is Vodka and liquor’s food coloring, Blue Curacao. You could easily toss these ingredients into a Vitamix and make a slushy. Or, you could spruce up the beverage with some fresh lemon juice.
Feel free to experiment.
Ingredients: Blue Curacao, Lemonade, Vodka
Blue Margaritas
Blue Margaritas look awesome in a pitcher. Keep that in mind when hosting friends.
Making a Blue Margarita is just like making a Classic Margarita, only you get to change the color by adding some Blue Curacao liqueur.
Ingredients: Blue Curacao, Lime Juice, Triple Sec, Tequila
Blue Kamikaze
A blue version of the college drink standard, the Kamikaze.
Blue Cosmo
Like a Cosmopolitan, only blue. Real simple, Blue Curacao, Cranberry Juice, Lime Juice, Vodka. And, your most elegant martini glass.
Ingredients: Blue Curacao, Cranberry Juice, Lime Juice, Vodka
Touchdown Punch
There’s gotta be a big bowl on every big list of mixed drinks, right? The Touchdown Punch is ours for this list of blue cocktails.
Like a Blue Lagoon cocktail, the Touchdown Punch is one half citrus flavor and one half booze. And that’s fine. It seems most blue drinks center around vodka and lemon flavoring. And of course, Blue Curacao for the blue coloring.
But go ahead and toss some maraschino cherries into the bowl to garnish the punch. And, add a lemon wedge or two while you’re at it.
Also, skip the cocktail shaker, because Touchdown Punch is wooden spoon territory.
Ingredients: Blue Curacao, Lemon-Lime Soda, Prosecco, Seltzer, Vodka
Tiffany Mimosas
Tiffany Mimosas are the go-to bevvy of choice for the Saturday brunch of a girls Summer weekend away when someone’s feeling inspired and creative. Forget the Orange Juice and class up the 11am hour from time-to-time.
One thing we like about this blue cocktail is that it doesn’t require ice. Sure, the bubbly (and probably the lemonade) should be chilled, but that’s about it. So mix the ingredients, add the sugar rim, and enjoy the warm breeze of the midday nonchalance. Bonus points for shimmering sugar crystals.
Ingredients: Blue Curacao, Champagne, Honey, Lemonade, Sugar
Vibranium Cocktail
You won’t find Vibranium on the list of classic cocktails. Could you serve a Vibranium Cocktail in a martini glass? Yes, you could, but you wouldn’t. This is a rocks glass cocktail through and through.
So ease into that lounge chair and sip to enjoy.
Ingredients: 2 ounces Curaçao Grand Marnier, Hypnotiq, Mango Rum, Strawberry Italian Soda

- While we don’t recommend it, you could swap the Grand Marnier for Cointreau.
Star Wars Cocktail Milkshake
Concocted in a galaxy far, far away is this alcoholic ode to everyone’s favorite interstellar beverage, Blue Milk.
Ingredients: Blue Curaçao, Blue Food Coloring, Milk, Vanilla Extract, Vanilla Ice Cream, Whipped Cream

Sex in the Driveway
Risque.
But it’s blue, so it’s on our list. Typical ingredients with regard to the rest of the cocktails found here, only this time it’s also with Peach Schnapps. You could make it sweeter with a dash of Simple Syrup, but that’s up to you.
Ingredients: Blue Curacao, Lemon-Lime Soda, Peach Schnapps, Vodka

Blue Kamikaze Shot
Walk into a college town bar in the 90s, stay for an hour, and you will hear someone order a round of Kamikaze shots. To make it more fun, someone made a blue version of the original. Well done.
Blue Gatorade Shot
Blue was not one of the original Gatorade flavors. However, it fits in nicely with the suite of colored Gatorade shots that do exist. Enjoy.
